This ring is built around geometry. For Bunyan, we wanted the shape of the Yemeni Aqeeq to determine everything around it. The stone has a deep reddish-brown tone and a bold rectangular form, with softly beveled edges that catch the light and give dimension to what initially appears to be an exceptionally clean design. Rather than soften that character with ornate silverwork, we did the opposite: the 925 sterling silver follows the stone with a strong, precise frame and an understated band.
Look at it straight on and the effect is almost architectural the Aqeeq sits at the center, uninterrupted, surrounded by a crisp border of silver. Turn your hand slightly and another detail appears: the raised profile of the stone, the angled edges, and the contrast between its warm depth and the cool brightness of sterling silver. Now picture it on your hand. The rectangular face gives the ring presence, but the simplicity keeps it remarkably refined. There is nothing competing with the Yemeni Aqeeq. Your eye goes first to its rich color, then to its shape, and finally to the restraint of the setting around it. That restraint is what makes Bunyan so versatile.
